I recently had the opportunity to do the still photo work at an infomercial taping at TLN Studios in Aurora, IL. Manika is an amazing young lady with extraordinary talent, and besides being a music artist, she is an author. This video is a slide-show feature from the taping and the music track is from one of her recorded songs.
When winter in the Midwest is long and cold, it seems like Spring has a hard time getting started. But after our visit to Morton Arboretum yesterday, we can confirm that Spring is here. It’s always a refreshing challenge for us to find creative new perspectives. Enjoy our views.
I have had the privilege of doing photojournalism around the world for the past 40 years, but my current assignment in rural China has been one of the most enriching and rewarding life experiences ever. Putting legally purchased Bibles into the hands of Chinese Christians has been extraordinary. The reactions have been overwhelming joy by those receiving the Bibles, and also a good number of the church members openly wept, sometimes rather intensely, that their dream of having their own Bible was now a reality. They treated us like heroes – This doesn’t get any better.

There’s a quiet and peaceful energy on the Pacific Ocean coast in Western California. We seem to find a photo op almost everywhere we turn. We’ve enjoyed some spectacular weather here the past week and a half – and it’s given us the chance to appreciate and photograph the scenery around us.
We had the chance to play the role of part-time paparazzi this evening at the Palm Springs International Film Festival. There was a large gathering of Hollywood fans there, but we did what we could to grab our angles and views. Among the stars in attendance are the ones we have in our photo collage, and they include: Mariah Carey, Quentin Tarantino, Clint Eastwood, Mary Hart, Eva LaRue, Helen Mirren and Anna Kendrick. We’re certainly glad that this kind of photo work isn’t our “day job.”
As a Viet Nam veteran, there’s always an extra appreciation and value when you see and experience authentic honor and patriotism. That happened for Mary and me today while visiting the “Healing Field of Honor” in Naperville, IL. I only have three words: powerful, powerful, powerful.
Last weekend I was in Arden Hills, MN, with the Ruth Graham and Friends ministry, hosted at North Heights Lutheran Church. The dynamics and intrigue of this weekend conference is always a challenge to photograph and make creative. Hopefully, this YouTube video will be a good perspective.
The music in this video is from “Jazz Praise” CD by Huntley Brown, one of the friends in “Ruth Graham and Friends” but also one of our very good friends. Please visit his site: www.huntleybrown.com
We’re currently visiting family in Harrison, AR. Our adopted granddaughter just received a new ballerina outfit, and Mary has been reading a book to her about young ballerinas. As a result, Mary was able to get this photo of her and did some creative interpretation for the background.
